Safety Manager - Peoria, IL

Bodine Services of Peoria (BSP) is seeking a Safety Manager with a strong background in health and safety and who believes that employee safety is a top priority.

BSP is part of Bodine Services of the Midwest, a full service industrial plant maintenance and environmental and waste contracting company. For over 50 years Bodine has been providing responsive and professional services to the municipal, industrial and commercial communities. We provide services throughout the Midwest with five locations and over 250 employees. Our future growth is dependent on talented and hard working safety professionals capable of building solid relationships with our clients and establishing a strong company safety culture.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

• Conduct client work site safety and health inspections to identify, evaluate and control potentially unsafe working conditions and practices.
• Facilitate new hire safety training.
• Routinely conduct safety observations and reports and the implementation of safety controls.
• Evaluate and update overall effectiveness of the company site-specific PPE program.
• Help identify, develop and implement work site safety initiatives.
• Conduct thorough investigation of any work related injury, documenting findings and implementing corrective action plans.
• Complete all safety reports accurately and on a timely basis.
• Provide local HR support.

Qualified candidates will possess:

• BS degree in a safety related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations.
• Experience implementing GMP’s.
• A self-starter with proven team oriented attributes.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Solid PC skills including MS Word and Excel.
