The Bodine Way

The Bodine Way

  • Safety
  • Exceptional Customer Care
  • Professionalism
  • Best Equipment - Well-Maintained
  • 24-hour Service - 365 Days a Year
  • Attention to Detail

More and more there is a buzz in the air about “The Bodine Way”. This raises the question, “What is the Bodine Way?” and “Why is it different than another way?” Simply put, The Bodine Way is a culture or way of doing business than it is a statement or company policy on how business should be conducted. It is a philosophy of pride in a job well done that extends back to the conception of Bodine almost 50 years ago.

Dick Bodine started and built a business with the main concerns being exceptional customer care and attention to detail. This was done by finding solutions to customer needs no matter what time of day or how long it took. It involved providing and meticulously maintaining the best equipment available which became a Bodine hallmark, as witnessed by the community. This included washing, vacuuming, fueling and placing equipment under roof after each project in preparation for the next project. When you offer 24-hour service 365 days a year, you must be ready for the call no matter what time of day or weather condition. It also meant developing and maintaining a facility that was not just a place of business, but a visually pleasing environment that any neighbor would be glad to live by. This meant creating a park-like setting with a pond, manicured lawn and ornamental trees. It meant investing back in the business and setting an example for all to follow.

Jack and Mike Bodine have continued to promote and develop “The Bodine Way”, ensuring that their father’s vision carries on. They have taken the existing business philosophy and applied their own touch by diversifying the services offered and expanding the geographic areas of service. This meant growing, but not losing sight of what built the business and The Bodine Way. They standardized Bodine, by developing a red, white and blue logo, creating a branding with the red and white trucks and setting standards for a professional appearance in the workforce, including comfortable, appealing uniforms and a clean-shaven face.

They also added to The Bodine Way by continuing to develop a safety culture that promotes “Zero Is Possible”. Believing that we can achieve zero workplace injuries, this culture is being further developed through a state of the art, onsite training facility equipped with confined space entry, lock-out / tag-out and vacuum and water blasting training equipment. Additionally, Safety Incentive Awards and the “Bodine Buck” Program provide monetary reward and recognition for safe behaviors and for taking care of fellow workers. Bodine’s Drug and Alcohol Surveillance Program leads the industry by including hair follicle drug testing in addition to standard urinalysis testing. And when the right safety tool did not exist to prevent water blasting injuries when cleaning heat exchanger and condenser tubes, Bodine’s personnel developed it, and we now hold United States Patent Number 7,571,733 B1 for development of the device.

All the above items are just part of The Bodine Way. In general, it is a business philosophy where the main goal is not just to maximize profit, but to develop a business that sets the bar for the industry in the areas of service, safety and professionalism for another 50 years.
